My Guardian Home Program

At Twilight Doodles, I believe every dog deserves the very best life. That’s why I limit the number of dogs living in my home—so each one gets the love and attention they deserve. But to continue raising top-quality puppies, I also need to bring in new, outstanding bloodlines.

That’s where my Guardian Home Program comes in!

What is a Guardian Home?

A Guardian Home is a family who welcomes one of my breeding dogs into their home as their forever pet. These dogs get to grow up and live life as a cherished family companion, while also being part of my breeding program.

How it Works

  • Location: Guardian families must live within 60 minutes of Garland, TX (75040) and be flexible for drop-offs and pickups for vet visits, health testing, breeding, and whelping.
  • The Dog: You’ll receive a high-quality puppy or young adult at no cost. This dog will be your forever pet.
  • For Females: Their breeding career begins at maturity and usually lasts 4–6 litters. They stay with you during pregnancy, then come back to me just before whelping. Once puppies are weaned, they return to your care.
  • For Males: Contracts are longer, and they are used on an “as-needed” basis.

While your dog is in my program, I cover all breeding-related expenses. You cover normal pet care such as food, grooming, training, and routine vet visits. When the breeding career is complete, I handle the spay/neuter and full ownership is transferred to you.

Guardian Home Responsibilities

Being a Guardian comes with some unique responsibilities:

  • For Females: Managing heat cycles and keeping her safe from intact males. You’ll also need to be comfortable with her staying with me for a few months during each litter.
  • For Males: Preventing contact with intact females to avoid accidental breedings.

Qualifications

To join the Guardian Program, you must:

  • Live within 60 minutes of Garland, TX.
  • Have a secure, fenced yard.
  • Commit to routine vet care with an approved veterinarian (I cover breeding-related care).
  • Provide consistent training and socialization.
  • Keep the dog groomed every 6–8 weeks by a professional groomer.
  • Feed my recommended diet from PawTree.
  • Not plan to relocate within the next 5 years.
  • Be dedicated to providing a loving, safe home for life.

Why Become a Guardian Home?

This program is truly a win–win. You receive a beautiful, well-bred dog at no cost, while I get peace of mind knowing my breeding dogs are living as beloved family members.

If this sounds like the right fit for your family, I’d love to hear from you. Apply today and become part of the Twilight Doodles family!

Currently seeking a Guardian Home for Olivia.

Olivia is a 3 year old active Mama in my breeding program. I anticipate having a few more litters with her. This decision is made litter by litter. Her mental and physical health are my top priority.

She’s an affectionate dog who is very good with children. She takes a touch longer to warm up to men (haven’t seen this with my own husband but she’s gone for visits at other Guardians so we can evaluate her outside our home).

She is 23” tall and weights about 45 pounds.

She has a double coat, and does have a light shed. She would do best with a family who does not suffer from allergies. She has a wavy, plush coat and will require regular grooming.

Olivia has a higher prey drive, she enjoys time outside “hunting”! She should not be left outdoors for long stretches. She’s relaxed indoors and is normally founded napping at my feet.
